How to disable USB ports in windows 7/8/10

USB Ports are a very important part of a computer. This method is commonly used to input and output data to a computer. But in some cases this method has to be disabled to protect the data in the computer. Let’s see how to disable USB ports in windows 7/8/10

Method -1

  1. Press Windows + R and open Run prompt
  2. Then type “regedit” and press Enter

3. Now go to the location below

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR

4. Then double click on the “start” on the right

5. Now change the value data here to 4

6. Now click on “OK” and restart the computer

Method -2

  1. Press Windows + R and open Run
  2. Then type “gpedit.msc” and press Enter

3. Now go to the location below

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Removable Storage Access

4. Now open all the three Rules below, select Enable and click “Ok

5. Then restart your computer
